Mental Health Support
Ascent Healthcare and Challenge Trust support and assist each other in the specialised area of Mental Health recovery support. As specialist providers of quality services with shared values and goals, Ascent Healthcare and Challenge Trust are able to provide a comprehensive and cohesive service to the private sector.
Often there are people who prefer not to enter into the state-funded support system, and as such, limited alternatives are available. As a private provider, Ascent Healthcare is able to provide an alternative, privately funded service.
Some clients arrange ‘in home’ assistance from nursing agencies, but these services often do not support mental health and staff may not have specialist training or experience to deal with complex mental health management issues.
Supporting Clinicians, Clients and Families
Ascent provides individualised supports, developed in consultation with the client’s clinician and their family. The level of support varies depending on the client needs such as basic skills training or more intensive ‘in home’ care where high level supports are required. Service supports may be short term or long term, depending on individual needs and Ascent will work to develop recovery plans to support the ‘journey’.
Clients can refer themselves or be referred by their clinician or GP. Where a clinician is working with a client, Ascent will work alongside them.
Individually Packaged Support Care
Through our dedicated Community Support Worker (CSW) staff, we have developed a service called ‘Packages of Care’ that will be tailored to each individual’s specific needs, using a holistic approach that supports emotional and spiritual well-being while respecting the importance of culture, equity, social justice and personal dignity.
Qualified Mental Health Professionals
Ascent staff are recruited as specialist Qualified Mental Health Professionals with many years experience in social work, nursing, psychology, occupational therapy and other graduate level training.
Staff work with clients and assist them to develop and maintain life skills and social support systems, enabling them to live a full and satisfying life in the community.
If you or someone you know needs support in their home, simply contact Ascent Healthcare. One of our Needs Assessment Team will be available to discuss what is required. Ascent Healthcare will then present a comprehensive plan and budget to provide this service.
