Since 1993, Challenge Trust as a charitable organisation has effectively transformed donors’ gifts and sponsors’ support into compassionate action. Their gifts of giving and the valuable support we receive from individuals, institutions and corporations have resulted in successful recovery outcomes for many mentally-challenged and impaired people in New Zealand. We call the result of these outcomes their hope for a better tomorrow.

The poignant story of Michael on this website is but just one account of real lived experiences of individuals mired or lost in the dark recesses of their minds who Challenge has helped.

Recovery should be the standard of care and not the exception. The patient efforts of Challenge Trust and those who have and continue to support its cause have brought many into the light. Regaining lost dignity, confidence, and self-esteem, they are now productive members in communities where they live.
