Leading the Way

It is my privilege to lead this organisation and the fine people that make it what it is. We, at Challenge Trust, have made a commitment to providing the best possible services and our results speak for themselves. Our services are centred on recovery through innovation and quality. We support people on their journey towards being the best that they can be, reaching their full potential, with real relationships, real homes, real jobs and real lives.

At Challenge we have a working vision; it is about being the best in terms of clients, stakeholders and staff. But what does that really mean? It means that whether you live in Otara or Khandallah and you are affected by mental illness, physical disability, mental impairment, dementia, drug and alcohol issues, or the wide range of conditions requiring recovery services, your first choice will be Challenge. It means if you are a funder looking for an organisation to make a difference, your first choice will be Challenge. It means that if you are a practitioner in the field of recovery, serious about your career and being the best in your field, your first choice will be Challenge. We are achieving that vision.

What makes us different? Our philosophy, our recovery model of care, our people, the wide range of solutions we can offer . Some of our mantras are “good people are our most valuable resource”, “everyone is capable of recovery”, “be the best you can be”, “whatever it takes”, “be the fence at the top of the cliff, not the ambulance at the bottom” and “clients first, second and third”.

Challenge Trust is affiliated with two other key organisations including The New Zealand Housing Options Trust (NZHOT), which provides housing solutions, Generation Trust and the Recovery Foundation. Challenge Trust works closely with the Recovery Foundation to identify, develop and evaluate innovative recovery solutions and we aim to provide our clients with “one-stop shop” individualised solutions.

Something very special is happening at Challenge and to the people we serve. I invite you to be a part of it in whatever capacity you choose.
